I'm an American living in Malaysia and looking to start an online retail shop through drop-shipping from China and possibly other southeast asian countries to the U.S. I don't have any partners, just wanting to do it on my own and I'm a newbie. So, my question is should I register my business in the U.S or overseas? What sales taxes would apply? What legal issues should I be looking into?
I am a paper packaging manufacturer from Taiwan and i would like to set up a company in USA.
The company will import the bags from Taiwan and then are stored and distributed frmo the 3rd party warehouse & logistic company at State CA.
My question is:
1. To set up an company that can importing goods, what type of company should i register?
2. What do I need to be able to import? (eg EIN, local address?)
Please advise the things things that I must provide in order to import goods into USA.
3. How will this type of business be taxed according to the law of USA.
I'm a Canadian Citizen and want to buy a production line in US. But not sure the following issues:
a. is it legal to buy business in US as a Canadian?
b. If so, how can I stay in US? As a visitor, or apply a working visa, etc.?

I have an LLC company registered in Hungary, Europe. I would like to buy from a wholesale company (in California) via internet, order the goods and get them delivered to Europe. I would like to sell the goods in Europe, Hungary. That's all.
The company asks to provide a business licence or seller's permit, however I do not know if it is necessary.
I checked the website of BOE in California, http://www.boe.ca.gov/index.htm I think it says I don't need but I can register for one, but it asks which state the company is registered in, FEIN #, and data that I cannot provide because the company is not in the US.
I asked another company and they also needed this business licence but I do not know how and where to get it.

I have a running company (ltd) in Hong Kong, I want to form a US LLC to buy a real estate property in California, should I put this company under my own name or I should structure it as wholely owned subsidiary by my Hong Kong Ltd Company... in considering I want to apply L1 visa to US for myself in the future.
We are a small UK company looking to gain a presence (incorporate) in the USA. We would hope to do this using a company set up in the USA and via a virtual office. We would not hold any stock in the USA and would drop ship everything from the UK.

EIN# Can you get an EIN w/o a SS#?
If I want to build abroad for example in Haiti, can I set up a real estate LLC in the US or would it better to have a holding company that invests in an LLC to build in Haiti? I want the terms and conditions to be enforceable in the US, as the venue of any contract disputes between investors/owners.
I am an Italian resident working in Europe and remotely from my laptop. I also arrange physical events through local partnerships. I want to incorporate a US LLC as a holding company for my assets (songs and movie copyrights, tv format, business models, cash, real estate) but being passive, running active business from a second company I will open further (not in the US), totally owned by the LLC. So the holding would be 100% passive. But I occasionally would travel in the US, being the only owner of the holding. Can I do this without requiring any kind of Visa, as I will not "work" nor the company will not gain any direct profit but only holding? Nobody could say that I am working without permit, cause it's not, right? Would be any better way to do it? Thanks!

Now, I don't want the name and address of the actual USA manufacturer on my product so as to maintain the exclusivity of my product manufacturer in India. I am a US resident. A European (Italian) consulting company, that is interested in my services, wants to expand with a branch office in the US. They also want me to participate as a partner in the US branch. The US branch would not be able to directly generate revenue for one-two years, but basically act as a support to the other business' core activities. For this reason, I, and other US employees that I envision hiring, should be supported with a stipend. The funds for this stipend come from the revenue generated are all billed in Europe.
Given all these caveats, what is the best approach to form a US branch?
Hi, I have registered for a LLC in Wyoming, but need to apply for an EIN to do business, I have a SSN a long time ago when I was still in college. Can I use that to register for an EIN? (but I don't live in the state or have any working visa) or should I apply for an EIN without SSN and register for a ITIN instead?

I have a Canadian company doing e-commerce business to the States. My operation is in Canada but my customer base is located in US. My customers experience problem when they pay by debit card because their banks do not let their payment go through because my merchant account is a Canadian one. To solve this problem I need to be a US merchant. To qualify as a US Merchant, it requires a FID#. I read about registering a LLC in Wyoming to obtain a FID # or EIN. What is the tax implication? Can I sell my products at sell price to my LLC in Wyoming to have zero profit. Does it raise any legal problem? Will this practice be acceptable in respect of Federal Tax? Any suggestion as how to get a FID / EIN #?
