Maryland Electrician License

January 25, 2012 Asked by Robert

question:

I am an electrician from California who has the opportunity to take a job in Baltimore, Maryland. How can I get a license in Maryland?

January 25, 2012 Answered by Mary Dubitsky

answer:

Robert,

You will likely need a Master Electrician License from the State of Maryland. Unfortunately, Maryland does not offer reciprocity with California for this type of license.

Steps to obtain the license include:
1) receiving pre-approval from the Maryland Board of Master Electricians,
2) passing an examination, and
3) submitting the final application.

This license typically takes 7-21 days to be issued after the Board receives the final application, if no deficiencies are found. We at LicenseLogix can prepare and file all the steps in this application process, while providing guidance and support to ensure your license is issued as quickly as possible. See our website for more information.

Best of luck with your business!
